Kale Chips!

What is this wonderful leafy veggie? Kale, and what will I be doing with this kale? I will be making a easy and delicious healthy snack that I can stuff my face with as much as I want. ^_^

So this was actually the first time I had eaten kale with it not being blended with spinach and various other veggies and fruit, and I was quite happy with the results (of the second batch any way...)

To make the kale chips you will need:

Kale (obviously)
Oil of your choice (I used a coconut oil spray so that it would coat evenly)
Sea Salt (and other seasonings if you prefer)

The first step is to cut the leaves. The best way is to the stem/spine of so that only the leafy part is left. Then you wash the kale and let them dry. While the leaves are drying get out a cookie sheet and place a cooling rack on it, I used a folding rack so that I could turn the leaves easier. If the leaves aren't dry yet you can pat them dry with a paper towel.

The next step is to place the leaves on the rack and spray with oil, make sure you get an even coating and not to over do it. If you are using a folding rack as I did, close the rack, flip it over and spray the other side, if not just turn the leaves over and spray :)

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about five minutes. Make sure you watch them like a hawk, they have tendency to brown quickly and too much makes kind of ruins the batch. I took them out just before they started to brown.

Take out and sprinkle with salt. That's about it, you can eat them warm or cool either way they are delicious ^_^

Because I also enjoy playing with fancy cameras I took some extra shots, here they are :)
